So go out and ask for professional advice. Ask for the type of diabetes you have for there are three types; and medication varies in each type. There is Type 1 diabetes where the patient’s body does not produce insulin that is why daily insulin intake is necessary. For Type 2 diabetes, which is the common type, the patient’s body either does not produce insulin or does not utilize insulin properly. And the last type is called gestational diabetes which usually develops among pregnant women.

The second step in controlling diabetes is all about monitoring. The ABC’s of diabetes control is essential for the results manifest the disease’s development. The letter A stands for A1C test which refers to the body’s sugar level, while the letter B stands for the body’s blood pressure, and the letter C stands for the body’s level of cholesterol. Knowing all three will save a diabetic’s life.

The third step towards diabetes control is by managing the illness through proper diet, engaging to physical activities, constant visit to the doctor, avoiding vices, proper medication intake, and still monitoring the ABC’s of diabetes.

The fourth and final step is by developing a diabetes control plan. This will serve as your routine guide to fight back against diabetes. The plan must include schedules when to visit and consult your doctors, schedules of when to have clinical tests to monitor diabetes, weight loss chart, and other self checks you believe are helpful. You might as well consider having your plan checked by your doctor for approval and further improvements.
